About Catdoku

Catdoku is a free logic puzzle game you play in your browser, where you place one cat in every row, column and color region without any two touching.

Each level gives you a square grid split into colored zones. You don't fill every tile. You place a small set of cats, so on a 6x6 board you end up with exactly six, and every other cell stays empty. The rules borrow from Sudoku and Minesweeper, so the game rewards careful deduction over guessing.

You can play Catdoku online with no download. Levels get harder as you progress, hints are there when you get stuck, and the look stays minimal and calm. A wrong cat costs you a fish, which gives you a good reason to think before you commit.

Tips to get better at Catdoku

Mark X cells every time you place a cat. Clear out its whole row, column and the eight cells around it right away.
Check the smallest colored regions first. A region with only two or three cells leaves you very few choices.
If a color is confined to a single row or column, no other color can use the rest of that line. Mark those cells.
Don't guess. With a fish on the line, wait until marks leave only one option, or use a hint.
Scan the whole grid again after each move. A new X often creates a forced spot somewhere else.
